Strengthening and enhancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Puerto Ricans throughout the United States

About NPRC

Our Mission

NPRC's mission is to systematically strengthen and enhance the social, political, and economic well-being of Puerto Ricans throughout the United States and in Puerto Rico with a special focus on the most vulnerable.

NPRC's Leadership Role

In the past 32 years, NPRC has emerged as one of the most respected and effective organizations advocating for the concerns of the Puerto Rican community.

This visible leadership has resulted in the recognition of NPRC as a valuable partner in the national Hispanic movement. NPRC is a member of the:

  •  Board of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) – an advocacy organization that works to advance the inclusion of Hispanics in Corporate America at a level commensurate with our economic contributions.
  • Board of the National Latino Coalition on Climate Change (NLCCC) – a coalition started to help raise awareness about global warming in Latino communities and to build the capacity needed to support grassroots advocacy efforts through research, policy, and educational outreach.
  •  Board of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA) - a coalition of 40 influential Hispanic non-profit organizations and private sector individuals that monitors the Administration and Congress on issues affecting the Hispanic community.

NPRC has also been an active member of the Boards of many respected organizations including:

  • The Hispanic Education Coalition
  • The National Neighborhood Coalition
  • The National Hispanic Housing Council
  • The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights

NPRC performs an important mission, provides relevant services, and addresses the most critical issues confronting our community. As the leading national umbrella organization representing the interests of a growing Puerto Rican community, we look forward to continuing to share in this social agenda.
