Community Building

NPRC has been serving the developmental needs of the Puerto Rican community through a set of training and technical assistance services that comprise NPRC's Community Building Initiative (CBI). Through the CBI, non-profit civic organizations are provided hands-on assistance in developing and implementing solutions to address social, economic and political issues. NPRC assists community-based organizations with strategic planning, capacity building training, access to vital resources, and financing of community housing and economic development projects. The CBI is focused on individual improvement, promoting opportunity, and the advancement of quality of life through holistic approaches which are community driven with broad participation and collaborative linkages. Through the CBI program, NPRC has worked with community leaders in over 200 communities to advance economic and social agendas, address community development issues, and to move citizens to develop agendas for change.
