NPRC AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY FUND ANNOUNCE WINNERS OF 2011 FORD BLUE OVAL/NPRC COLLEGE TO CAREER (C2C) LATINO ESSAY CONTEST

Washington, DC The National Puerto Rican Coalition (NPRC) today announced the scholarship winners of the Ford Blue Oval/NPRC College to Career (C2C) Latino Essay Contest. The NPRC College to Career (C2C) program is a leadership skills development program geared at increasing the opportunities of juniors and seniors in college to succeed in Corporate America. The Ford Blue Oval/NPRC Scholarship initiative awarded 10 students a $750 scholarship to assist them with their educational needs. For the 2011 Spring Semester, participants were asked to compose an essay based on the following themes: a) A Latino in Corporate America you Admire, Why?; or b)The Contributions of Latinos in Corporate America. 

2011 spring semester’s winners are: Kazi Sumon (Lehman College), Wander Polanco (Syracuse University), Iddrisu Abubakari Sadiq (Lehman College), Shamir Goicochea (Seton Hall), Carlos Tejada (Montclair State University), Norvil Lindsay (Lehman College), Stephanie DeLaurentiis (Lehman College), Albert Parisi-Esteves (Cornell University), Earlene Cruz (Seton Hall), & Diana Ruiz (Lehman College).

With support provided by corporations like the Ford Motor Company Fund we are helping to elevate the standard of living of our community,” said Rafael A. Fantauzzi, President & CEO of the National Puerto Rican Coalition.
