NPRC CALLS FOR SUPPORT OF THE DREAM ACT

STATEMENT BY RAFAEL A. FANTAUZZI, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE NATIONAL PUERTO RICAN COALITION SUPPORTING A VOTE TO PASS THE DREAM ACT.

WASHINGTON, DC – The National Puerto Rican Coalition (NPRC) is asking all Members of Congress to support the Dream Act. 

The future of America depends on two fundamental actions; living our core values and protecting our freedom. If we believe that all men are created equal, education is the greatest equalizer, if we believe that our freedom is at risk, we must protect our country. Thousands of immigrant youth, that recognize America as their country, want to attain a higher level of education and serve in our military; the time has come to give them that opportunity.

We remind all democrats, republicans, and independents in Congress that their ancestors were immigrants. Immigrants founded our nation, immigrants fought for our freedom, and immigrants built the halls of Congress. America is about honoring that legacy and we do that by enabling the future contributions of current and future immigrants. Pass the Dream Act now.
